About
Alice Blue is a landscape and still life painter known for her expressive use of color and her ability to capture the movement, mood, and reflections of water and natural environments.

Always drawn to visual expression, Alice returned to painting over 25 years ago, developing a practice rooted in observation, intuition, and a deep sensitivity to place. Working in both oil and acrylic, she moves fluidly between plein air and studio painting, allowing each environment to inform the other. Her work often begins with a moment—light shifting across water, the stillness of objects arranged on a table, or the quiet atmosphere of a familiar landscape—and evolves into a study of tone, rhythm, and reflection.
Living along the Rock River in Wisconsin, Alice finds ongoing inspiration in water and its many states—calm, movement, transparency, and depth. These elements appear throughout her work, not only as subject matter but as a visual language through which she explores change, memory, and presence. Her background in photography further informs her compositions, sharpening her attention to framing, contrast, and fleeting detail.
Her work has been recognized with multiple state awards and featured in Midwest Review Magazine. Notably, her painting Lilies was selected for display at the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences in Madison (2018–2019). Alice has exhibited in numerous group and solo shows, and her paintings are held in private collections across the United States.
Through her work, Alice Blue invites viewers into moments of quiet attention—where light, color, and reflection come together to create a sense of connection and calm.
